AMP will offer several internships in the summer of 2017 to young people over the age of 16 who are either attending school or have entered the workplace. The internship program is designed to introduce young people to collaborative project work under the mentorship of experienced professionals.
The internships will focus on helping tell an important piece of AMP’s story--who are the people depicted in the mural and why were they chosen? Workshops will develop skills in interviewing, story development, and documentary video production, and will include the chance to learn from a variety of professionals in the field of journalism, communication, and film. Participants will plan, conduct, and film interviews with a few of the mural subjects. The intern team will meet at Whiting Mills in Winsted, CT. When travel is involved, AMP will cover travel expenses. These are volunteer internships.
